SYMPOSIUM INTERNATIONAL :
L’Exploitation, la Réhabilitation et l’Évolution des Barrages
(Problèmes d’exploitation des barrages– Étude de cas pratiques)

Les thèmes choisis pour le Symposium sont les suivants:

• Expérience dans l’exploitation des barrages. Étude de cas pratiques.
• Problèmes d’exploitation des barrages (inondations, tremblements de terre, fondations, fuites, érosions internes, vieillissement, détérioration des matériaux, etc.).
• Le rôle des barrages dans les ressources en eau et la gestion de l’hydro-électricité pour le développement durable.
• Le rôle des barrages dans la prévention des inondations.
• Auscultation des barrages.
• Nouvelles tendances et technologies dans la surveillance et l’auscultation des barrages.
• Calcul de la sécurité.
• Réhabilitation des barrages.
• Évolution des barrages. Nouvelles normes de sécurité (inondations, tremblements de terre, développement de la science et de la technologie, etc.).
• Adaptation des procédures opérationnelles des barrages existants pour répondre aux nouvelles exigences sociales, économiques et environnementales.

Présentation des travaux et dates limites:

• Les auteurs doivent envoyer par e-mail les résumés en anglais, ne dépassant pas 300 mots, à la Secrétaire du Comité d’Organisation avant le 10 janvier 2008.
• Les auteurs des travaux retenus seront informés dans la semaine qui suit la réception des résumés. Les travaux finaux devront alors être envoyés avant le 1 mars 2008 au plus tard.
• Des instructions sur la présentation des travaux seront publiées sur le site Internet de l’événement au www.icoldsofia2008.org et seront également envoyées à chaque auteur des résumés retenus.
• Les délégués et les participants recevront les matériaux du Symposium lors de l’enregistrement, 1 – 4 juin 2008.

Session details:
Every Symposium session will start with opening address and review report of the session general reporter generalizing presented reports. World tendencies of development in this direction will be presented in the review report. Then authors of selected reports will speek.

The selected reports could be presented in English and Bulgarian. Simultaneous translation will be provided.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING THE PAPERS FOR THE SYMPOSIUM

All papers must be presented in English and must be strictly on the topic of the Symposium.
Authors must submit electronic copy of the paper in A4 format and also a copy on paper. The electronic copy should be sent as an attachment to an E-mail message and the paper copy to the address of the secretary. The size of paper should not exceed 8Mb and the length of the paper should not exceed 12 pages, including abstract (300 words), introduction, text, conclusions, figures, tables and references.
Papers may be prepared using Microsoft Word 97, 2000 or XP.
The article must be original and unpublished elsewhere. The submission of the paper is taken to mean that the author(s) have all the necessary permissions.
The information, analyses and conclusions in the papers are on sole responsibility of the autors.
Times-Roman font is used throughout with a single line spacing with left, right, top and bottom margins 25 mm. The text should be 12-point, the title of the paper 14-point, and the authors' address footnotes 10 point.

(Flush left, no numbering, capital, bold, 12-point Times-Roman).

Leave 1 line space between paragraphs. Avoid footnotes.

Secondary headings
(Flush left, no numbering, bold, 12-point Times-Roman)
All figures, photographs and tables should be inserted into the text. Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively. Captions of tables should be placed above and cantered. Captions of figures should be placed below and cantered. Lettering and annotations in tables and figures should be of the same size as text. Below and under figures and tables leave 1 line space. Formulas and equations should be numbered consecutively with numbers flush right in brackets (3).

Third level headings
(Flush left, no numbering, underlined, 12-point Times-Roman)
The International System of Units (IS) must be used.
All symbols should be defined when they appear for the first time.
References should be cited in the text as, e.g. Smith and Jones (1998). At the end of the paper the references should appear in alphabetic order.

As the abstracts will be printed a part in a book, please to send with the same attachment on e-mail and the same post letter the abstract a part.
